Buyer Beware – Pre-made ” Affiliate Websites”

It’s one week into my blog and today I’d like to sum up the past week’s worth of information and something else that has come to my attention. People on E-Bay selling pre-set up websites. I’m sure if your like me you’ve looked at these “money-making” websites. Everyone loves list, so here are some reasons you should NOT buy websites or affiliate sites on ebay.

1. Enormously over inflated numbers. These sites always tell you that each advertising mechanism can rack you in a few bucks every time someone buys “X” product from you. They then proceed to multiply those by 10 people, 50 people, 100 people and even 5000 people! Now if someone has a site that 50 people buy from them a day you should quit your day job and make affiliate sites for a living. Its realistic to make maybe a couple of bucks a day is a very solid and site. They then continue to multiply all the possible ways you can make money my ridiculous numbers and claim you can make up-wards to $100,000 a year. If you can do that why would they sell these gold minds?

2. Problems with the coding and HTML with these sites. The pre-made money making sites are notorious for having poor code and tons of bugs and glitches in them. When someone gets them they are usually so bad people can’t get them off the ground let alone make money on them. Customer service is also terrible. People selling these sites usually take the money and run.

3. Fee’s roll over to whoever buys it. Not only do you pay between 5-10 dollars for this lousy site but your also going to have to pick up the domain fee and the web hosting fee. So what you originally thought was like ten bucks turns into around 60-100! In today’s day and age that can be a difficult burden on some people.

4. People selling these terrible sites make money in the selling of them, NOT the operation. If all these sites worked so well don’t you think they would just run multiple sites for a living? How many millionaires do you see selling 5 dollars websites? NONE. These guys sell a dream. People like you and me who would like to make money online reach out to these affordable alternatives but end up on the short end of the stick.

Your best bet when it comes to websites is to either make one for yourself or hire a professional. I would HIGHLY recommend starting a blog such as the one I’m currently doing. It makes you familiar with wordpress which you can then apply to any major web hosting sites such as FATCOW, GO DADDY, 101 ect. That’s all for today any questions or comments feel free to ask. Ebay Affiliate Marketing

One method I'm trying to use to make profitable websites is affiliated marketing. One of the best affiliated marketers on the web is Ebay. Now for those of you who don't know what affiliated marketing is or how it works let me give you a basic run down.

Affiliate Marketing is an internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts.

Now thats straight from Wikipedia. Pretty much what that is saying is that if you put something on your site that belongs to someone else, and acts as more of a directory then a website. So when someone clicks on the product it sends them to ebay. From their one of two things can happen. They either by the product or sign up as a member. Either way that's $$$ for you. You get 65 percent of what ebay makes off of every sale. With that in mind if your selling a cheaper product like a video game, your bottom line won't be as much as if you sell a car.

The first step you want to do when trying to use affiliated marketing is establish your website. You don't want to apply for affiliated marketing without having a website.

Second is you have to apply to Ebay Partner network. Applying is pretty easy its a small form and usually takes about a week for them to process. If you successfully do that your on your way to making money with Ebay affiliated marketing.

How to Make a Free Website

Today I’m doing to run down how easy it really is to make a free website. One of the best methods to doing that is by using WordPress. I saw a very good video on www.youtube.com that showed me how to start a website. The site I’m currently creating is www.powersporter.com. I guess you can say its my trial-site. I will provide a video at the end of this video to show you just how to make one of those websites. But first taking the appropriate steps to finding what kind of website you want to build.

#1. Know what niche you want to sell and how you plan to sell it. You may not be selling a product but a idea. Either way, if there is no market for that type of idea, no matter how great it is, will fail. The best way to know what kind of site you want to make is to use freekeywords.wordtracker.com Its a great tool to see how often a item is actually searched.

#2. If your a beginner like me you want to use word press for the website platform. Almost all of the major hosting company’s have word press incorporated right into their control panels. So sign up with a host ( Only a few dollars a month ) then follow their instructions on how to set up word press.

#3. In my experience starting this blog just to talk about my experience and share with others has made me more and more familiar with word press which has helped me be able to work on my website more efficiently. Just like anything with websites it takes practice to become skilled. WordPress is a lot easier to understand then many of the other website platforms. Make Money Blogging on WordPress

#4. Do research. Use SEO or search engine optimization to maximize your exposure. If you are skilled sometimes you can get a top 5 google ranking by just using the appropriate keywords. Other times there are programs that you pay but deliver great results. Get In Google’s Top 5 in 30 days! Many programs you have to pay but you have instant exposure. Teach your self what it takes to get great exposure!

Methods Available to Make Money Online

I’m going to try to keep this as up to date as possible. I think its the best way to really show progress through out this mission. Plus blogging is something I’ve never really done before. Do keep in mind I have no experience in anything to do with making money online. However I do have some experience in business. I’m only 21 and I am currently in school getting my BA in business. With that said, I’m not trying to go out and apply for a job to work 60 hours a week for THE MAN. Who honestly wants that? I’ll share with you guys and girls what I’ve picked up so far from about a million videos.

#1. Video’s are IMPORTANT. In my case I want to make money with websites. And everywhere I seem to go they all say the same thing. Be sure to have video’s. Today people don’t want to read down through a bunch of garbage. You see a video or a tutorial would you rather read it or see it.

#2. Content IS important. Google and other search engines rank your page based on relevance of content. If you have a “flash” website where everything is displayed as a picture, you might be in trouble. So be sure to have good content as well as videos.

#3. WordPress is the best for beginners. If you have no previous knowledge on how to use web pages or start a website I would recommend wordpress. It is a basic version of a website that you can use to get your feet wet. I’m going to try to get a video up shortly on how you go about setting that up. Most web hosting have it already integrated in their programs.

#4. Getting paid. There are many ways to do this. My main focus right now are affiliated websites. Now that is a pretty broad statement but I’m talking about, Clickbank, Ebay, Amazon, Google, you name it.

#5. Getting traffic. Now understand I am by no means a professional. I’m sharing what I’ve stumbled upon so far. And there are TWO ways to get traffic. Time or Money. The money end of it is you go to a site like google and you pay people very time they click your ad. It can be as little as a few cents or as much as 50 cents a click. This can get expensive quick. And honestly I personally am not trying to break the bank. So that brings me too the option of time. Time is basically fine tuning your site to have relevant keywords and content so you appear on ex: Google in the top 10 searches FREE. Now what sounds easy is actually very challenging. Takes time and patients.

Anyway that is the top 5 most important things I’ve stumbled across so far. Everyday is something new. I hope this helped at least someone. If anyone has questions or comments please feel free to ask or submit. Any help I can provide or get is always appreciated.

Starting a Business for Beginners

Well today is day one of my official Blogger blog. It’s only right to start out with a little bit about me. My name is Dan and like anyone I want to make an honest buck. HOWEVER that’s not always the easiest thing to do and I’m sure anyone reading this can appreciate that. Things I do know..#1. I don’t want to work for someone else the rest of my life…#2. I want to make a boat load of money with out busting up my body or working some dead end job. So like any young inspiring entrepreneur I’m here on the world wide web. Its almost frustrating seeing so many people banking so much cash when you feel like that should be YOU. Well here is my goal. Make $1000 dollars in by September first using the internet and other features on the internet. And here’s the deal anyone that takes the time to read this thing I’ll take along for the ride. Can I do it? No clue. It seems like I’ve spent about 10 hours watching and reading on how to make it big. But I think with my drive and my eagerness to learn I can do it. Stay tune for my next bit where I’ll talk about the steps I’m taking to try to make it happen.
